What is a pavement licence?
If you run a food and/or drink business and want to place tables, chairs, serving stations or other temporary furniture on the pavement or public highway you require a licence.

Alcohol sales
This licence does not allow alcohol sales unless you have a premises licence.
If your premises has alcohol on sale only, you will need to complete an application to notify the licensing team. Please see the guidance on the Gov.UK web site:

How long does the application process take?
The application consultation period is 14 days and you will need to keep the notice up on the premises for the whole period and have the application period agreed with a member of the licensing team. It will then go through a decision period of a further 14 days.
The process will be delayed if the application is incomplete, or the plan is poor or a payment is not made.
