Martin Rogerson, Cabinet member for Legal, Governance and Organisational Performance
I have devoted my professional life to adult social care and healthcare leadership, establishing a career defined by advocacy, compassion, and sound judgement. Working as a manager within adult social care, I have consistently championed the needs of others, ensuring that they are provided with the information, guidance, and support required to make informed decisions about their care and future.
Throughout my career, I have worked closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing leadership to nurses, care staff, and auxiliary colleagues to achieve the highest possible standards of care for patients and residents. Working in senior nursing and management positions, I have held responsibility for budgets, financial planning, recruitment, induction, staff development, and service improvement across a range of care environments.
Experienced in building strong relationships with staff, residents, relatives, doctors, consultants, and surgeons, I have a record of always acting in the best interests of those I represent, listening carefully to their wishes and using my knowledge and judgement to help secure positive and empowering outcomes.
I entered politics because having lived and worked in Red Street, Talke, Talke Pits, Kidsgrove and surrounding communities, I am deeply committed to using the knowledge, skills, and experience I have acquired throughout my career to ensure that local people are properly heard and effectively represented.
A believer in honesty, integrity, and accountability, and in the importance of delivering on commitments, I remain calm under pressure and focus on approaching problems with clarity and logic to find fair and practical solutions in a constructive and proactive way.”
