Andrew Fisher, Cabinet member for Residents' Services and Neighbourhoods

I have been married for over 35 years, and my wife and I are proud parents to our daughter. I served in the Royal Air Force for 16 years, starting as an Engineering Apprentice before going on to fly Search and Rescue on the Nimrod aircraft for much of my career. After leaving the RAF, I continued flying in civil aviation before moving into IT, working mainly in the public sector and specialising in Project and Programme Delivery, helping to deliver complex programmes that improve services for local people.

I chose to stand as a councillor because I want to play an active part in supporting the community that my wife and I have called home for nearly 12 years. This is an area we care deeply about, and I am passionate about giving something back while helping it improve and thrive.

As Cabinet Member for Resident Services and Neighbourhoods, I want to help make our communities can easily access our services and ensure they are high-quality local and adapting to modern technology developments. I am committed to strong, responsive neighbourhood services that reflect the Council’s priorities and, most importantly, meet the needs of the people we serve.”
