Urban tree planting

February and March 2023

As part of the implementation of the strategy, it is proposed to deliver tree planting within identified urban wards during the coming winter planting season (February and March 2023). It is intended to plant a range of individual native broadleaf and/or fruit trees on selected sites, whilst ensuring that the selected trees are suitable for each site.

These sites will be:

• Arnold Grove

• Coalpit Hill

• Leys Drive

• Lyme Valley (rear of Homebase)

• Lyme Valley (former pitch and putt)

• Mount Road

• Sheldon Grove

• Silverdale Crossroads

The proposed planting plans for these sites are available to download.

Once planted, these sites will form part of an essential mosaic of local greenspace sites that will be protected for the benefit of nature recovery and carbon capture for the future and in time further carbon reduction opportunities on these sites will also be considered with community involvement.
