Urban tree planting

February and March 2024

As part of the implementation of the strategy, it is proposed to deliver tree planting within identified urban wards during the coming winter planting season (February and March 2024). It is intended to plant a range of individual native broadleaf and/or fruit trees on selected sites, whilst ensuring that the selected trees are suitable for each site.

These sites will be:

• Betley Place
• Bradwell Dingle
• Clayton Field
• Grange Lane Community Centre
• Wolstanton Marsh
• Wye Road Community Centre Car Park

Once planted, these sites will form part of an essential mosaic of local greenspace sites that will be protected for the benefit of nature recovery and carbon capture for the future and in time further carbon reduction opportunities on these sites will also be considered with community involvement.
