Housing assistance policy
This policy sets out how we will offer financial help for improving and adapting homes. The aim is to support residents to improve their health and wellbeing by addressing problems with unsuitable homes that do not meet their needs.

We are inviting residents and stakeholders to comment on the Draft Housing Assistance Policy 2027–2031.
The policy outlines the range of financial assistance and support for the delivery of both mandatory Disabled Facilities Grants and discretionary assistance, ensuring that vulnerable households can access adaptations, repairs, and other housing interventions that enable them to remain safe and independent within their homes and communities.
We encourage everyone with an interest in housing and independent living to review the draft policy and complete the accompanying questionnaire. Your feedback will be considered as part of the consultation process before the policy is finalised.
