What happens to your recycling and household rubbish

Our reprocessors and where to find our data

Like all councils in England we have to supply all our data to central government through WasteDataFlow every quarter.

When audited by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) it is published for everyone to see. Our data is shown, alongside that of other English councils.

All the companies who have handled the materials we have collected are listed, along with the types and quantities they have recycled.

The information shows how the range of materials we use at home changes over time, such as the increase in packaging which results from online shopping.

We and our residents can be proud of how much we collect here for recycling. The data also shows how complex the reprocessing industry and recycling markets are.
