Anti-social behaviour policy and procedure

Procedure - anonymous and malicious complaints

Anonymous complaints will be treated with the same importance as any other complaint. If there are serious allegations such as child abuse or drug dealing, these will be passed, without delay, to the relevant agency for the most appropriate action to be taken.

Other anonymous complaints will be handled carefully as they may be difficult to prove and could be harmful to the accused if found to be untrue.

Anonymous complaints will not form the sole basis of legal action, but could lead to additional evidence and formal action.

Malicious complaints will be dealt with in line with our policies and procedures for such matters.
