We collect your unwanted or broken small electrical items alongside your recycling. Please put the items in a carrier bag, and put it in the top of your blue box. Your item must be no bigger than a standard carrier bag. Examples of what we collect are kettles, radios, power tools and hairdryers, and other electrical items no bigger than a carrier bag.
Large Electrical Items
Large electrical items can be recycled in two ways.
If the item is still in working order, the Furniture Mine, who undertakes the bulky collections on behalf of the Council, can collect it. Please follow this link for more information about the Furniture Mine
Large electrical items can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre (the tip) at Leycett. This site is operated by Staffordshire County Council.
Electrical items are stripped down into their components, many of which are valuable metals and are then recycled into new products.
