Council Tax discount and exemptions for single persons and disregarded adults

People who are under the age of 18 are not classed as an adult and are not considered when looking at the number of people living at a property.

If all people that live at the property are under the age of 18, then the property is exempt from paying Council Tax.

What you will need to apply

You will be asked for:

• the Council Tax account number this discount applies to

• the names and date of births of all occupants who are under 18 years old

• copies of a birth certificate and passport (if available) for all named persons
