Recycling, household rubbish and garden waste subscription collection policies
Landlords
If you are the landlord of a property, you are responsible for ensuring that the correct containers are at the property for your tenants to use, and somewhere practical to store them within the property boundary between collections. You also need to make sure that the tenants have all the information that they need to use the services properly such as:
- what materials go in each container
- what the collection dates are
Our website provides all this information. We recommend that you put the information on a noticeboard in a shared area of your property. As landowner, if there are problems caused by accumulation of waste within the property itself or within the property boundary, as owner of the land you have liability for this.
If the property has a house in multiple occupation (HMO) license, it is a condition of your license that you provide both containers and information.
